To be clear, I am not a fan of turbo. This car is designed for instant throttle response and to listen to the driver. You can't get that with a turbo. But a supercharger... it is a virtual displacement increase. The boost is instant and linear. I have owned many carbureted vehicles and I will say that a supercharged BRZ is as close to carbureted as you can get. Instant throttle response and it listens to the driver. Something that fuel injection doesn't usually do.
When I installed the Cosworth, first thing I noticed was the exhaust note was deeper. Even at idle. It's simply pushing more air through all the time. And with a belt driving the supercharger, It's directly connected to the crankshaft which results in no lag. It's just feels like a bigger engine.
I like to focus on the solid black line. It's virtually linear. No more dip, but it pulls to redline. The area under the curve is enormous. IMO, this car was made for a supercharger.
