I had to replace the clutch due to the TOB going bad, there was a TSB on this but Toyota wouldn’t warranty the clutch saying it was wear and tear, BS. Now I got to fix the reverse backup light switch which I can’t reach. I just recently replaced the original Pioneer head unit with an IDOING head unit, best mod I ever did, simple play and plug. I plan to keep the FRS forever, I am 68.
Most likely a Scion rod.. It was a Toyota or a Subaru rod,it'd be a different story..

BTW my BRZeeeee is 11yrs old and 17.5k miles.. oh, the windscreen washer check valve packed up.. turned out to be dodgy Scion part.. what can I say...
