Edit, ok that's not really a metallurgical question, nor really a car question, but I like the word so I left it there lol. I really just want another opinion on whether trying to work out the triangle for efficiency is likely to backfire.

What about TOMEI/HKS/Borla, and then get those coated. But yes, do inspect the welds before bringing it over to the shop.
I have seen those headers mentioned but to my understanding they may be way too loud.
