In the paddock? Yes.
On track? Not so much, unless you're losing pressure due to a puncture.
I mean, people have been tracking gen1 cars with no such display.
Furthermore, many gen2 owners don't even put TPMS sensors in their track set of wheels.
Besides, what are you going to do if your tire pressure is 38 and you want 35?
Doing a cooldown lap won't help. I tried.
If you
really need real time tire pressures, you might as well make the font larger

And btw that trick was also available on gen1 cars with Android Auto head unit (whether OEM or aftermarket).
