Heck, your exhaust pieces aren't made out of glass ...... are they?

OK, here is the humfrz method. Take your car up to a muffler shop and tell them how you want them to look. Sit back in the customer lounge and read part of a car magazine. When they are finished, inspect them to make sure they are the way you want them. Pay them, don't worry about how much it costs - the job is done - right? Go home, have a beer and take a nap.
