There's more than one way to skin a cat.
Our 2022 Forester bounces off the redline once a trip, and it has 39 miles on it now. Once oil temp reaches operating values let it rip. Also important to heavily induce engine braking to help even out piston ring wear/wipe.
Oil getting changed at 100 miles, then 500, then normal intervals.
Worked for every new car and motorcycles Ive owned and engines I've built.
The only important thing to do is to let the motor warm up. Let the motor warm up. Let the motor warm up. Let the motor warm up. Aside from that RPM up and down, up and down, up and down. 4 miles on the odometer don't go on an 8hr road trip.
