Catalog also shows that the rear knuckle and rear subframe are specific to the new gen, but the Wheel Bearing assembly is the same. I'm assuming that the track width difference is coming from either or both of those.

Almost makes me think the changes to the rear may have affected camber gain or other alignment geometry, which may have an effect on the wheel fitment difference @trippinbillies40 is reporting. But its just a theory at this point
