Common misconception, but all-seasons are not better in the wet vs. summer tires. The best max-perf summer tires will generally have more wet grip than the best UHP A/S tires. So will Extreme Perf summer tires, but those will have less hydroplaning-resistance.
Most important thing is to check test results (preferably) or customer survey results at TireRack.com to see how specific make/model tires do for wet grip.
