Your EPA could care less how long your engine lasts. Only how little fuel it burns.
When asked about these light-weight oils a few years back, a local engine re-builder said he would recommend 20W50 for anyone interested in maximum engine life. I wonder if the oil galleys of the latest engines can flow such heavy oils.
5W30 full synthetic only for my 2016 and the others in my fleet as well.
20W50 will certainly not be useful for any kind of DD. So if that is what this engine builder was trying to say then he is full of crap. That oil weight can certainly flow within our engines and has been tested on track by many. But the oil pressures will be way off when it comes to DD.
