I've been in a few Poopra track cars that went really well, correct set up for discipline is always the key.
In the end the best track cars are NOT GT cars like Supra's or Skylines, but smaller lighter cars.
Well, that's what I see at the pointy end at track days and WTA.
Horses for courses and such.
IMO, the old "Supra's only go fast in a straight line" comes from the 1990's and early 2000's and the ability to get a easy 500hp with only basic bolt on parts, like alot of people modifying cars, their main focus is on getting a big number, not all round performance, but when you use your brain and spend some coin on your setup, they handle just as well as any RWD GT car, and sometimes better than AWD like the Nissan Skyline GTR's, that's if the RB26 hasn't spun a bearing or spewed its oil all over the track.
That old 2JZ-GTE with its Getrag were/are still tough nuts.
