I know that when I have changed jobs money was only part of the considerations (I will not say it was not part of it ever).
When I left my last position they offered me baskets of cash to stay. Their offer was for actually for more than I make now 8 years later! I must admit it was tempting but the HR manager's reaction (she was as dumb as a stump and a total bitch) of "well I guess you are just too good for us" when I said I would think about the offer instead of just taking it right away really clinched the matter.
