On the pan it's probably fine to use Yamabond but to be safe you may want to just buy TB1217H. It's about $19 on Amazon.

And while you are at it maybe buy this tool ($25):

This tool has a sharp edge with a good surface to hit with a hammer and once hammered through the seal you can pull on the handle to pry the pan off. It gives more leverage than a screwdriver and a lot easier to hammer than a putty knife. Mainly due to clearance. If I recall the service manual recommends an SST that is almost identical.
