Grab a infrared temp gun.

Super handy at the track to check your tyres as well.

On my old Skyline I needed to block off the air to oil cooler with a blanking plate for street use during the colder months.

I would remove it for the track, I forgot to block it off one time coming home from Wakefield Park, IIRC my oil temp on the hwy was at 60°c, yes, when I saw that I stopped and put the blanking plate back on.

I like my oil somewhere between 100-115°c, easier said than done though.
