My installer believes its the reason why Cyl 4 is misfiring and giving me vacuum leak symptoms. Cyl 4 is the only one that looks like that.

If they aren’t cut up or scraped and brand new they are probably fine. Pull them out inspect clean off as necessary. The engine looks super dirty, you need to clean off all that crud. Will definitely not allow the manifold/gasket to seal properly. It doesn’t look like that crud is on the manifold so it was probably already there before, your installer should have seen it and cleaned it all
Off. Also inspect and clean off the manifold portion make sure no visibly large scrapes/scratches that would also cause leaks if so you’ll need to dremel it down to a flat smooth surface.

When installing those gasket/o-rings use grease or vaseline to keep from ruining them.
