More like $1000 for a single bedroom in a mediocre bay area community. Want to split a house in SF? Maybe $3000.

You have to get the right degree and know the right people. Or you have to start a business and be smart enough and hardworking enough to make it work. You can luck into a good union job. Otherwise you're gonna struggle.
