Another option is slotting the upper holes in the struts.
You won't have clearance for -2.5* on 9" +35 wheels without camber plates though, I maxed out around -2.4* with 17x8 +45, and you'll have 2mm less clearance.

Makes sense. So I should get about -2* on my setup. Still better than -1.1*-ish I have now, so I'll give it a try. Will report back after I try
