Your car doesn't have a problem, the problem is we live in Canada
Below a certain temperature (seems to be around 7-8C), the alternator will keep a constant 14.4V. I'm guessing to make sure the battery is at 100% as much as possible, to prepare for the next cold start.
It will also keep a constant 14V if your headlights or the rear defrost is on (and maybe other things I haven't noticed, like heating seats, etc).
