the idea of preventative maintenance is to replace fluids while they are still fully capable of performing their task long before they become "gritty". I'm pretty sure Blackstone is not testing oil by rubbing it between his finger and thumb and there is no question on the fill out sheet about "does it rev the same"
If you track the car check the fluid before and change it afterwards (pay attention to how much drains out to determine if you are burning oil and may need a catch can and pcv change). whats an oil change, $40? you will never convince me that saving money on oil changes saves money.
