I do the labor for $350 for locals, if that helps you get a gauge on the rest of the deal. A 'real' shop is likely closer to $450. These cars are pretty easy to do that job on, lift car, drain trans fluid, remove shifter, pull driveshaft from trans and hang on whatever you can, pull trans back and you're in like flynn. (flinn? idk.)

If that's the price with a full aftermarket (exedy stage 1, ACT HDSS, Southbend, etc,) clutch kit, new OEM or lightweight flywheel, velox clutch fork and pivot with OEM TOB, and a good gear oil like motul or amsoil, I don't think the price is that far off.

That said, I doubt he's grabbing the 'full monty' enthusiast package.
