"FRS direct injection fule pump problems. Just wanted to give you all a heads up. I had to replace this pump today due to the fact it was making a loud chriping noise almost like a wet drive belt. The toyota reps came out to my work and listened to it. It only happens once the temp gets to around 140f. They explained it to me as follows. The pump has a washer inside of it which if not lubercated properly it will make that noise. They said that Japan gas is way better and has more lub in it the USA gas. SO the usa gas casued the washer to not be lubed properly. There is no known fix or TSB for this. i got a new pump but keep your ears open so you can catch it and report it. Its not a preformance issue just an annoying sound thats all. Hope this helps." |
