I have noticed that our cars seem to be invisible on the road. So many times other drivers have made moves as if I wasn't there. I guess because we are low to the ground? It drive my wife crazy especially when we drive long distance on the interstate.

Good luck with the repair! Hope she's up and running in no time!
Anybody that has driven truck will tell you there is a massive blind spot on the passenger side where even pickup trucks can disappear for a second no matter how many mirrors you have. You have to be very careful moving to the right in traffic. That s why you should not pass trucks on the right when on the highway (no matter how tempting it is).
Now in this case the truck driver most certainly should have known that the car was there since he overtook it the car didn't try to pass him. Once the truck had the car partially past his front bumper is when the height would have come in and it disappeared.
Truck driver was a dumbass and should never have been in the far left lane to start with (unless he turned into it in which case he should have watched closer)
