Not to contradict you, because you may be right, but here is an excerpt from page 166-167 of the 2017 manual:

If the accelerator and brake pedals are depressed at the same time, driving
torque may be restrained. This is not a malfunction.

Of course they could be stating the obvious (when pressing the brake the car will accelerate less...DUH!! ). But some people, me included, deduced that meant that engine torque is reduced. Of course the test that Justin did, and also mine, suggest there is no override.
