No, the '17s don't assist the diff anymore with the brakes. Brake assist "helps make sure maximum pressure is applied to the brakes as quickly as possible in an emergency situation."

It's basically a progressive curve on your brake pressure. It's not an active system nor a system that can be turned off or altered. It's also nothing you'll notice, especially autocrossing.
