I bought this car at 21 and got a 2.9% rate with no co-signer and 2k down. Financing the car was fine, but insurance was such a bitch. Was $480 a month for insurance, now its down to $220 (25yo now).

I bought my first car at age 18 and paid $200 cash. No insurance cost because it was classified as a farm vehicle. I drove it till I was out of college (age 23). That made the cost of ownership (outside of gas, tires etc.) about $40 per year. Never could afford new wheels ..... I just painted the rims and put on port-a-walls .....
