The "rest of the story" was that, after unloading the milk, I followed the river up to Ripley, Ohio, where my luck ran out (sort of). A young Ohio State Highway Patrolman pulled me over for not having a RR taillight, which had burnt out and he discovered I was only 17 years old and didn't have a CDL.
Since I wasn't loaded (empty tanks), he sent me off packing back to where I came from (Blanchester, Ohio), with a warning and a promise not to drive any tractor trailer until I got a CDL. He was a nice guy.
Ahhhhh ...... yes, the good ol days ...... "10 forward gears and a Georgia overdrive" ........
