OP, it's all been said, in this and many other threads.
I drove stick for 26 years straight. If the AT didn't have a decent manual mode, there would be an argument for a clutch. But, as time marches on, things change and improve.
You don't actually ever need to learn how to drive a stick nowadays, any more than you need to learn how to use an abacus. The world has largely moved on from MT's, even amongst F1 and supercar manufacturers, etc.
Nothing against the MT guys - I was one. But this car is a total fucking ball to drive sans clutch. If a large owner segment still gets their jollies from a manual, so be it. Just don't be bullied or shamed into thinking it's the only and 'right' way to enjoy this car.
Having to shove in a pedal just to change to another gear is akin to climbing on a passenger plane and flapping one's arms to keep it aloft. What's next - go even 'more purist' with a horse drawn 86?
Try them both, ignore the peer pressure, see which one you like best, and buy the AT.
