So about a week ago I decided to put an aftermarket exhaust (Tomei header, Milltek o/p and frontpipe) and I saw an oil leak on right cylinder head from valve cover.
I brought car to the dealership today and they refused to do anything because of aftermarket exhaust. They are saying that because OE parts have heat shields on them and aftermarket don't there is too much heat created by overpipe and this is what damaged gasket.
I have OE overpipe in my garage and it's heat shield is also covered with oil, so this proofs that oil leak was there before I put upgrades on.
What do you think: is there a chance that other dealership will fix it? What if I'll put OE overpipe back on car with heat shield and bring it to different dealership will they see comments from this one mentioning aftermarket exhaust?

I don't mind fixing it myself if it actually was my fault, but it isn't and I hate the fact that every time I go to dealership they are trying to find an excuse to not honor Toyota's warranty.
I had that "clucking handbrake" issue and 2 dealerships just told me to pay for diagnostics without promising to do anything about it, but I finally got it fixed today under warranty (at the same place which denied fixing oil leak).
Last week my rear tire started to leak pressure and I had to spend about 4 hrs in dealership to make them replace it under warranty and they were denying it until I called Toyota Financial Services who sold me premium plus program which covers tires even if there is a nail in it.
I have that "cricket noise" from the high pressure fuel pump and again got denial from dealership when I brought a car to them because TSB was for cars which are older than mine.

Sorry for providing so much details but it's getting to the point where I just want to sell this piece of junk (speaking of car's reliability) and buy a 25yrs old 240sx and maintain it myself rather than have a new car which keeps breaking down and dealers are denying to fix it.

I'm right along with you. I've had almost the exact same situation as you. Car has been serviced 6+ times initially for oil leak at the timing cover, after the 2nd repair started smelling oil again and they put a new seal within the hour. Then I noticed a loud clicking noise and determined it was the fuel pump. Also still smell oil every now and then so They are checking on that while it's being serviced. They are replacing the fuel pump right now. I am looking into compensation possibly an extended warranty at no charge and an engineer to evaluate the condition of my engine instead of a 17 year old technician at my local Subaru dealership applying temporary fixes. I believe All of these problems route from the factory oil seal put on the car when it was manufactured. And my time window for taking action is running out, as lemon claims can only be made within 1 year of purchase, and my 5 year powertrain warrant is quickly running out. Sorry to rant but I am seriously disappointed with the vehicle and how cheaply it was made. I never would have got the car if I would have know I'd be dealing with these problems. I'd love to modify the car but I'm scared to put the $800 headers on because of an expensive part breaking like the fuel pump they are replacing, and then not honoring my warranty. Anyone else in this predicament? Smh
