There's also the fact the max torque is now reached 200 rpm earlier (according to 2 recent Aussie 2017 GT86 reviews (MT cars only)). By itself it's not much but added to the extra power and torque plus the changed final drive it should give you a bit more push.

With the Abarth version of the Fiat 124, the max torque arrives 700 rpm earlier than it does on the standard version, and the reviews of that indicate it made quite a difference, but that is a turbo'ed engine of course so the impact is greater.
