The answer is yes and no, the new engine will
most likely come with a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty. The same as if you purchased a new engine or part from the dealership. If you bought a new alternator from the parts department and it broke the next day would you expect them to tell you to pound sand? My experiences have been with Dodge and Chevy not Toyota or Subaru but I would expect a very similar experience.
The "extended warranty" that I speak of is not on the entire car but the parts and service that were provided. Same warranty as if you were a paying customer and you paid the service department to do the work.
I never said your warranty starts over.
