Neither of those compromises are a train wreck, but they are compromises.
I have driven a couple miata's with V8 swaps. Maybe they were done wrong, but they no longer handled as well as a stock Miata.

Ok.....what ever......i was refering to Vorshlag on weights and the balance of the car afterwards not on how it handles.....not going to sit here and argue with people who have never driven my car or a swapped FRS done properly.......no matter what I say im always going to get the fan boys......but yes power is way better and handling is very close to OEM if not the exact same.....with the addition of instant engine torque for steering corrections and engine braking on down shifts is like dropping an anchor out because the car is so light......
