I heard the opposite, though I have not confirmed it. I have read that the gears in the transmission are at extremely close tolerances and that is what causes shifting issues when the transmission is not properly warmed up due to the expansion and shrinking of the metals when cold and hot. better fluid helps this problem.

though, I have also read that the stock clutch fork sucks when paired with aftermarket clutches and is prone to breaking.

I still recommend you change your transmission and diff fluid to the Motul though since it is generally approved by many people on these forums. I changed mine at 4k miles and I am currently at 14k with no shifting problems.
