I've had powerful Muscle Cars in the past (475bhp Saleen Supercharged Mustang GT, C5 Corvette). I understand the sense of frustration with them - I just realized that for my kind of driving, it was virtually impossible to be a good citizen and utilize anywhere near those cars potentials in most of my driving. They also got to be tiring to tool around town at 1/10ths all the time. I like that I feel like a part of the vehicle with the BRZ, and that running costs are much lower.
I also feel that with my meager driving skills (let's be honest, most of us who buy sports or muscle cars are pretty mediocre performance drivers) - the car suits me better. I can better understand vehicle dynamics and how to drive a vehicle closer to the edge of its capabilities in something like the BRZ than in a super-powerful car.
Also gas mileage.
Welcome back! These cars are special, and I do think that it is a car that people won't realize how special it is until it is either gone, or like many Japanese sports cars before it - becomes overpriced and bloated because people believe they need more POWAH.
It happened with the Z car, I hope it doesn't with the Twins. If it does happen, then I am happy to have the equivalent of the 240Z
