Look, some people argue that you will wear out the linkage bearings or something like that. Personally, I think it's bs. I've rested my hand on every knob in every car my whole life and I have never had a problem.
There are many arm rests available.
I ordered this from eBay and I'm happy with it. It's taller than the OEM one, looks nice and feels nice.

Sorry I have just been trying to find a retainer for automatics and have read many threads. I guess I got this one mixed up with another one where someone said that was what you needed to buy.
I understand the thread pitch is 10x1.25 but does it matter which knob I buy because one will say it is for manual short shifters and another will say it is for automatics but they have the same thread pitch.
