My thought was that 3/4 tank was the point where there is just enough room for the fuel to move away from the pickup for a second, to take in a little air.

Could it be that E85 is too much for the stock fuel pump in these conditions?
The strange part to me, is that on long extended lefts with boosted cars, that are on gas, we don't have this issue, and the rate of consumption is approximately similar, if not higher, on the boosted car.

Have you ever logged fuel pressures?
