Yes, SPL can go low because of the new v3 design - 2 sets of holes (high/low), I just have not seen the lower holes used yet.

Reads to me that you may just be a candidate for just springs to lower the car - no performance necessarily. Blow out the OEM shocks/struts and replace them used for <$500. You'll be switching to OEMs anyways when lesser coilovers go bad (it could be a pain to discard coilovers when the manufacturer gives you the runaround or none at all).
