Custom GT 300 hood vents/heat managment

I want to know if anyone has experience or thoughts on cutting into the oem aluminum hood for venting/heat management purposes (specifically styled like the gt300 perhaps?) I know that @Reaper has done something similar in his own thread.

The reason why I ask is because most aftermarket hoods (Seibon etc.) are actually heavier than our oem ones! Unless you're using a pure carbon process (not carbon over fiberglass) those hoods are a pass for me.

I know that aluminum is traditionally a harder metal to form and bend into shape, so I want to know if this is feasible. The design would also need to be functional and take into account areas of high and low preasure as air passes over the hood, so as to extract heat from the engine bay.

Thoughts? Sound off. See pictures for reference
