No I think you're reading it correctly. And I'm very happy that Toyota/Subaru decided to not be safety nazis for once. I've always hated TPMS and I'm extremely happy to be able to not have it without an annoying warning light.

I might like it if the car would acutaly share with me the tire pressure and temperature data rather then just the idiot light most cars display.
