Had a similar experience (accelerating from a stop felt terrible at anything other than minimal or WOT). Only had 8K miles on the car at time of install (JSRC with CARB tune). Turned out to be a MAF sensor issue. Not sure if it was dirty, or just not aligned just right, but car would bog every time i accelerated from a stop. Others kept insisting it was probably just "parasitic load", "bad gas", etc, but i knew something was wrong.
Once I pulled out the MAF sensor, sprayed it down with some MAF cleaner, and
carefully re-installed, the car drove GREAT. It's a simple 10 minute thing to check for anyone experiencing this issue.
