Either way, the flange you bought should definitely help paired with a not paper gasket. I'd imagine once the paper is saturated, you're screwed.

Yep that sounds like the situation and with the extreme heats these things are seeing, its no surprise. JDL supplies us with the gasket used like any other kit out there. Should be fine, its just one of those things that could fail every now and then, florida also see's retarded humidity changes so im sure its not helping, lol its like those close to the sea with the salt.

The install is simple, I try do do things in my head, like you, most times but that gives me a headache. There are lots of things we can't visualize and that lack of guides, instructions around the forums doesn't really help. Just give yourself plenty of time and by this I mean a little more than a weekend to do things slowly. I know from experience that when you're relatively short on time you want to do things quicker and have some time left to spare to review things, this install is serious and shouldn't be one of those quickies. You don't want hoses, popping, touch hot parts, boost or vacuum leaks, wires burning lol. Although this isn't common it could happen. Just take it easy and if in doubt, double check, ask and retighten lol. Hit me up any time, I'm usually around.
