Sometimes when you are accelerating you may notice a short lack of linearity of rate of progress (starting around 1800rpm from memory). A sort of dead feeling.

Hunt for a torque curve graph and you can see a dip in the curve.

It can catch you out e.g. if racing so drivers try to keep the revs above the dip.

It is not unlike turbo-lag.
