the reason why i dont what it to be a scion in the states is because it has no right to be in my opinion. this car is meant to bring toyota back on the world stage for a cheap sports coupe, and as u've pointed out the tc is doing that job in America just fine with scion(although from this forum and reading and seeing what i have from car shows on the internet scion is a brand for posers, and it first has to get away from all the visual customiseations to really be taken seriously in motorsport) so scion dosent need the ft toyota does because it has nothing sporty(oh god i hate that word).

Some may want to see Toyota get back to having something in their line up like the FT, so I'm not going to knock on that. But that doesn't make it not suitable for the Scion line either.

That would be based on the forum you are visiting.

thats a shit load more people thats more sales that means a more likely second generation model and more support in the aftermarket, and thats what this car is about because no matter how good this one is, if it sells well and is raced toyota is more likely to make a sharper next generation model and possibly other sports cars down the line if this succeeds.
and unfortuneately America is a major market for toyota and if this dosnt sell over there then we can most definately wave bye bye to the next gen for the rst of the world, thats why i care

It's going to have an abundance of Support in the Aftermarket no matter if it's a Scion or a Toyota. There is nothing to suggest the aftermarket would be bigger under Toyota when the tC has a VAST aftermarket itself, and it's a coupe with an "economy" motor. They would sale more as a Toyota also based on the idea that Scion is suppose to be a more niche market and a direct targeted demographic. This is why people said Toyota/Scion made a mistake with the xB2 (since the redesign was not quirky and tried to appeal to the normal Toyota buyer). It's suppose to be Scion and suppose to appeal to a smaller group of demographic. It's not meant to be a global seller and be "boring" enough to be a mass seller (no offense, just saying the more radical the design the smaller the demographic).
PS....Thank you for actually making a valid opposition rather than the usual "Oh because Scion Sucks..ah..duh duha..duh..

" response.

And as previously mentioned, nothing about this car has scion written on it. This car is meant to pick up where Toyota left off 10 years ago. It's not to box it up, slap a entry-level brand emblem (*cough* scion *cough*) on it and sell it to kids.

I didn't proclaim crap dude. I came in to say the lot of you don't know what you are talking about, and I'm pretty sure I've proved that.
Gas and Brake = Left Foot Braking on the Road Course.
Gas and Brake = Brake Boosting on the interstate.
Gas and Brake (RWD) = Burnout at the drag strip.
500hp Geo?....if there were Championships under Geo then I would pay them respect and not act like a Noob....that's the "THAT" type of person I was referring to. The type of person who can't give credit where credit is due simply because they are to immature to be a real enthusiast.
