225/45-17 mpss on 17x8. 225 also fits stock rims just fine. I use UTQG 100 rubber in 235/40-17 for ax/track - this size is less common and usually in stickier rubber.
IMHO anything bigger than 225 for street is for looks but 235/245 works also.
