Yeah, since this is not a decorative item and is a FULLY functional race venue tow hook, the hooks are rather beefy and protrudes out of the car a couple inches. As for leaving it on in a daily driven car, that is up to the owner to decide, if this is ideal. It will damage any car that might bump into you in a parking area or parallel parked...LOL. And will make loading into a flatbed truck easier if you smash your own car into a wall...
It does secure with standard tow hook opening on the car, and does anchor well with locking lugs.
