I think brake pads are like tires and coilovers, it's really a personal preference thing. And personally, I really like StopTech street performance pads. Great dual pads with good modulation. Doesn't fade or dust or noisy. Not to mention they're pretty cheap (130 for a set).

I did all year with them - 13 track days - 3 days of MRLS and the rest at T hill. I don't daily my FRS so it's pretty much all track wear. I'm completely stock so it might not do well for those with more power. I want to put in front brake ducts but cutting my wheel wall is not an option

I've moved on from those for 2015. Currently running XP12 front and HC800 rear. Just did a MRLS day last Saturday. Car felt pretty good
I've cracked my fair share of OEM replacement s2000 rotors using CarboTech XP12 pads. I'm sure 999s would have a similar effect. Earlier in the thread I expressed interest in trying CR pads before the 999 because I'm a fan of not going overkill aggressive with the pad material. I was able to go less aggressive with the CarboTech pads after a BBK upgrade and I'm very happy with the XP10s I currently use. I felt the Xp 12's were overkill with the increased heat dissipation ability of the BBK.

I can't believe you got 13 track days out of a set of StopTech Street pads. I have a set of those right now since they came with my aforementioned BBK. I've never wanted to use them on a track since I tried AutoX'ing them 1 time and was disappointed in their initial bite and overall ability to scrub off speed in short distance. I was willing to bet my bottom dollar I could get them to fade away on a track and I was worried they'd start to crumble after a few sessions.
