5 mins is too long, it's just a waste of fuel.


If you're doing it on a cold engine:
Flash & Reset
Pedal Push
Start Car & Idle for 1 minute
Exhaust cams don't come active until oil is over 30C + some other conditions met so drive down the road for 1-2 mins and then stop the car. Wait until you see movement on the VVT Exhaust Angle. Drive and log.


If you're doing it on a warm engine:
Flash & Reset
Pedal Push
Start Car & Idle for 30 secs. You should see movement on the VVT Exhaust Angle after about 10-15 seconds.
As soon as the exhaust cam is active, you're ready to go.


I would just make sure you start logs when oil and water is up to temperature. For me, that's over 50-60C for both. The above is also why it's easier to flash if you've already warmed up the car.
