First off, ANY kit that requires you to modify the structural integrity of a key piece of safety equipment should be thrown out of the equation if the car is going to be driven on the street at all. If that's not a concern for you, then you have worse problems than trying to decide on a FI kit. Take 2 seconds and google some evidence of how well crash bars hold up in a frontal impact after material is removed, or the whole bar is replaced by a shitty piece of steel tubing that people advertise as "drift bars" or weight saving.

Secondly, I'm a fan of PTunings kit for 2 reasons. One, heat reduction in the bay. Two, center of gravity is maintained, as well as placing the weight further back and not at a polar end of the vehicle, meaning better handling characteristics. 2 very big cons, however, happen to be cost and the fact that it doesn't even come with a manifold. They expect you to shell out nearly $6k and risk ingesting your stock cat from the shit factory manifold into the hotside (wtf), or come out of pocket to buy one of the aftermarket headers that mount in the stock location. By far the most costly kit. I really want to like this kit because it's the only one on the market with this location, but I can't stomach that price tag. I am even considering piecing one together in this location.

Thirdly, don't be sold on "base kits". They are not complete and you will still need to pieces that aren't included, which brings your price up. Sure it will run, but it will never run right. Buy the correct equipment the first time, and forget it. Assuming its a quality kit and fitment is right, your only worry should be a proper tune. That is by far the most important part of any kit you purchase.

I am in the market for a turbo setup ( I don't want to say kit, because none of them out there are what I am looking for) and will most likely end up designing my own, piecing it together, and paying someone to fabricate the hot parts. If anyone can point me in the direction of a kit that has WAIC, rear/bottom mount gtx28 with a mechanical pump with a pressure gauge inline, includes a manifold, and doesn't end up costing nearly 10k in the end, I'm all game.
