I've used the factory jack a number of times without issue. Obviously use the e-brake and it helps to put the transmission in gear, just in case. I also chock the wheels.

That's by design. The parts of the frame that the factory jack touches are reinforced. If you lift a car using a jack that only engages the pinch weld, you risk potentially bending the pinch weld.
