That depends on your means, goals and priorities. Some would say a Porsche is too expensive for street use too. It's just their way of saying I can't appreciate or afford it, so therefore write it off.

Me, I put beautiful, lightweight, super strong wheels before tail lights, leds, fake carbon fibre and other such things.

They'll easily last as long as I keep the car and being top quality will retain a lot of resale value if you choose to flick them. I won't though. I'm a "Do it once, do it right" kind of person.
