Re the InsideLine 0-60 time, InsideLine was careful to point out why the figure seems higher than expected:

At 7.3 seconds, its 0-60 time (7.0 seconds using a 1-foot rollout like on a drag strip) isn't going to win over many drag racers. But this time comes with an explanation. The rev limiter in 2nd gear kicks in at 59.2 mph, requiring a second shift to achieve the milestone and slowing the time considerably.

For perspective, I like to look at 1/4 mile trap speeds. ISL got 92.1 mph in the BRZ. That's nearly the same as my 2004 WRX stock at 93 mph by Car and Driver. (
http://media.caranddriver.com/files/...mpreza-wrx.pdf ) (For 2002 WRX, same engine and weight.) I got 90-94 mph myself on the 1/4 mile strip stock.
So the BRZ will be about as fast as a stock 2.0T WRX in a straight line. I can live with that. I really want a car I can take to a road course a couple times a year without spending so much time and money on modifications as I had to do on my WRX's. I'm short on both.
I'll just laugh at anyone who wants to race me at a stoplight for wasting gas.
