Circuit Motorsports Tuning - EcuTek/RaceRom - New and Improved!

We want to update everyone on some new developments with Circuit Motorsports and the latest EcuTek/RaceRom features.

First, we want to thank everyone for your support and business!! 2013 was a great year, with a lot of learning and growth on the 86 platform. We are looking forward to continued growth this year and providing you with the best possible tuning, products, and customer service! We are now successfully tuning 86’s around the world and here at home on the dyno.

We have relocated into a much larger and nicer facility to provide even better service and support!

The updated EcuTek RaceRom V7 with new capabilities and new ROMs are here!

For the US-spec FR-S/BRZ, we have updated all of our tunes to the latest B01 ROMs, B01C for the manual transmissions and B01D for the automatics. These latest ROMs include all factory updates to date, including corrections for the DI seal and idle drop issues. All new tunes will be built using the B01 ROMs. We will be updating non-US spec tunes as well as ROM updates become available.

EcuTek RaceRom V7 includes new data logging parameters, including additional details on knock corrections. This is a real help in properly tuning the ignition timing on the FA20 engine, and are unique to the EcuTek platform.

When using the EVAP/CPC input for an Ethanol Content Analyzer or other use on a US-spec FRS/BRZ, you inadvertently cause erroneous Atmospheric Pressure readings which can cause issues in your tune. EcuTek’s RaceRom V7 provides a correction for that, allowing the use of the MAP sensor as an alternate for Atmospheric Pressure readings.

Another neat feature with the new V7 RaceRom Custom Maps is the ability to create Startup/Fail-safe Maps. These are maps that can be initially active or inactive, and be deactivated or activated upon a condition, and remain active/inactive until key-off. Fail-safe maps can be created for conditions like loss or reduction of fuel pressure, overly hot oil, coolant, etc. We can also create maps that activate upon startup, such as custom cold-start functions, warm-up conditions, etc., and the map can be deactivated after a certain condition or TIME! Yes, we have created custom maps that are time-based as well!

We are now able to use the rear O2 signal as an additional custom input! You can have your cake and eat it too! Wire in a wideband for closed loop fueling or any other custom controls based on wideband information, along with wiring in an ethanol content analyzer for flexfuel, AND control boost electronically via a connected Electronic Boost Control solenoid, all at the SAME TIME! We are also able to program proper electronic fail-safes such as fuel-cut in an over-boost situation using RaceRom features and Custom Maps. The possibilities are endless!

We have developed specific tunes for Equal Length, Unequal Length, Catted and Cattless headers. Each of these require very different mappings (specifically cam advance/retard) for the best gains possible.

Many have mentioned how loud their 86 is when initially starting up with aftermarket exhausts. From waking up neighbors at the crack of dawn, to disrupting formation marches on a military base, we’ve heard you! We have adjusted the cold-start function to quiet it down a bit so your neighbors don’t hate you!

We are developing an advanced custom traction control system using the latest features of EcuTek’s RaceRom V7 and custom maps. We can now make adjustments to throttle as well as ignition timing for even smoother traction control when wheel-spin is detected. And we can offer the selection of different levels of custom traction control using the traction control and stability control buttons in the car! This will be great for track duty!

We have a lot of new features/functions in the works that we are excited to bring to you, and will update as we progress. Thanks for your support and business! We strive to give you the best products and customer service, and will continue to do so! Thank you!
